NT Labs Color System
Color Catalog
All 20 colorways — 15 standard + 5 coreshot exclusives. Reference photos shot under controlled conditions — purely informational. Color can shift slightly batch to batch depending on plastisol, heat, glitter, and pigment variables. We work hard to nail it every time.
Colors that come and go still keep their card and their number. Once assigned, a color number is never reused. It lives in Null Theory history — right here.
MSFS
Multi-Scale Flash SystemMSFS is Null Theory's approach to building flash and optical stimulus into a bait using multiple reflective elements at different sizes, intensities, and viewing angles.
Most soft-plastic colors use one flake size or one dominant reflective effect. MSFS is different. Instead of relying on a single type of flash, we layer several scales of reflection into the same bait so it reacts differently as it moves through the water.
The result is a bait that can show a fine shimmer at one angle, a sharp holographic flash at another, and larger intermittent bursts of reflection as the bait rolls, falls, twitches, or changes direction.
The goal is not simply to make the bait brighter.
The goal is to create changing visual information.
A fish does not see the bait from one fixed angle. The bait is constantly moving, rotating, flexing, sinking, and changing position relative to the available light. MSFS is designed around that reality.
Different reflective materials are used to create different responses:
Reflective Material Layers
- Micro flash — Creates a constant low-level shimmer.
- Small & medium flake — Adds visible texture and movement.
- Large holographic elements — Create sudden, high-intensity flashes.
- Mica, Colorshift, Borosilica & other pigments — Add a softer directional sheen that changes with angle.
When those effects are combined, the bait does not produce one flat flash pattern. It produces a layered, irregular response that changes as the bait moves. Every MSFS formula is specific to the color it's in. No two are alike.
That is MSFS.
Not just more flake. A science of flash.
Signature Series
NT Labs DesignationSome colors are designed to match forage.
Signature Series colors are designed to manipulate light.
These are the formulations that best represent what Null Theory does differently — transparent tints and colorants, multi-scale flash, mica shifts, spectral effects, glow, and carefully controlled translucence layered together to create colors that can change dramatically depending on depth, angle, movement, and available light.
They aren't built around one flat color viewed under perfect conditions. A Signature Series bait may look subtle in the hand, reveal another tone when backlit, throw a completely different flash as it moves, or transform again in low light.
That complexity is intentional.
Each Signature Series formulation is developed in-house through repeated small-batch experimentation inside NT Labs. The goal isn't simply to make something brighter or stranger. It's to create a bait with multiple visual states — one that continues revealing something different as the conditions change.
Visual State Layers
- In hand — May appear subtle, muted, or understated.
- Backlit — Reveals a secondary tone through translucence.
- In motion — Multi-scale flash activates — throws a different response as the bait rolls and twitches.
- Low light — Mica shifts and spectral effects become dominant — the color transforms again.
Tint the light. Layer the response. Challenge the expected.
